SpongeBob wakes up with a Viking costume on, and exclaims "Hey everybody! It's Leif Erikson Day! Hinga Dinga Durgen!". He moves his bed using an oar, and goes to Patrick's house. He sees a giant note, saying "SpongeBob, went to get more giant paper. Uuuuhh... Patrick. P.S. Happy Leif Ericsson Day! Yer Ha Dinger Jinger!". He wonders if Sandy will play with him, and there is a note on the door of her treedome. It reads "SpongeBob, went South for the winter. Love, Sandy.". SpongeBob says that the water's fine, then realizes that it's snowing in her Treedome. He goes to Squidward's house, and there's another note. It says "no", answering SpongeBob's question of whether he wants to play with him. He also asks whether he's sure, and another note behind it says "yes". He decides to make a buddy, and after trying out Stick Buddy, Rock Buddy and Sink Buddy, he decides to make Bubble Buddy, a humanoid bubble. At

The episode opens up as Otis, Pip, Pig, Duke and Abby are trying to find Freddy and Peck. They find Freddy lying in Mrs. Beady's garden and ask him where Peck is, but Freddy doesn't remember. All of a sudden, Freddy coughs up Peck's feathers and everyone (except Otis) thinks Freddy ate him. After an unfair trial, Freddy is found guilty and Bessy sentences him to be donated to a pet store. While Duke puts Freddy in a cage, Otis decides to prove Freddy's innocent with Pip and Pig's help. They arrive in Mrs. Beady's garden, where they find a pecan sticky bun, Mrs. Beady's frying pan and a trail of pawprints, leading to someone who witnessed the attack. They find a member of the Gopher Underground, who is trying to sell a watch to a snake. Otis grabs the gopher and demands to know why he was meeting Peck. Otis and Pip are seen testing a new hypnosis kit on Mrs. Deady as she thinks she's a jungle lady. Later the two goof off with the others by using the watch. With Pig, they make him think he's a ballet dancer. Bessie comes and threatens the two for doing such a thing to Pig, but Otis uses the watch on Bessy as she was made into a cheerleader. The farmer room comes in as Otis states his friendship to the farmer, but soon put Pip to sleep with the watch. The day goes on as Otis hypnotizes the barynard into being multiple things such as kung fu fighters, pirates, a microwave or birds. In a chance for revenge, the gang tries to get the watch, but failed as Otis watches a wrestling movie. Accidentally, Otis hypnotizes himself and the movie tells him to "destroy the farmer" every time a bell rings. The characters soon try to prevent Otis from killing the farmer, only to hurt him more. SpongeBob and Patrick are racing to Sandy's Treedome to play. However, it has a metal cover on it, and a 'Keep Out' sign. They go inside, and there's a video explaining that Sandy's hibernating, and they shouldn't disturb her. Patrick insists that they should go in. They open the door, and see that the house is filled with snow (although they don't know what it is yet). They go into the tree and find Sandy, sleeping while she's dreaming about herself as a sheriff chasing after two criminals named Dirty Dan and Pinhead Larry. Sandy appears to be a lot bigger than usual. She doesn't wake up. However, when they make too much noise in her room, she wakes up and attempts to skin them thinking that SpongeBob and Patrick are Dirty Dan (SpongeBob) and Pinhead Larry (Patrick), until she falls back into her bed, asleep. On a stormy night, Donald and his nephews overhear the radio announcer, Breckenridge, notify the listeners that a mountain gorilla named Ajax has escaped from the city zoo. The nephews pale with fright, and Donald laughs at them. As a prank, Donald frightens his nephews with gorilla hands to make it seem as if he is Ajax. The nephews spotted Donald from the keyhole and in order to retaliate on their uncle, the nephews dress up in a gorilla suit and lay under Donald on the armchair (which Donald was sitting on to read a book), and eat Donald's lollipop while Donald is unaware of them. Donald heard the crunchy noise and discovers the sharp teeth and stare up at the fake gorilla, pale with great fright, he runs away. The nephews popped up from the suit and all laugh hysterically. For one night a week, the Krusty Krab is converted into The Comedy Krab, featuring some of Bikini Bottom's best comedians taking the stage. The first performance is by the great Dougie Williams. On this night, SpongeBob is one of them. He takes the stage, and begins giving an awful routine on his job, making poor jokes about salt, tomatoes and forks. A heckler tells him that his act "smells funny, and puts people to sleep," throwing him off further. So he starts telling 'squirrel jokes', and everyone starts laughing – except for Sandy. Sandy tries to talk to him about it; he says it's just an act and "everyone knows you're the smartest one in town". Danny, Sawyer, Pudge, Wooly, Tillie, Frances, Cranston, T.W., Timothy, the Crows, and the Berenstain Bears are reunited with Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and all of their friends from the Enchanted Castle in France. They join Mrs. Potts in the story of the Christmas that they spent with Belle and the Beast a year prior. The story takes to the events years ago.
